The sub-working group "Open Science trainings" focuses on concrete Open Science tools and their discipline-specific applications. Tools that are used throughout the entire research cycle are collected in regular meetings. The identified tools form the basis for training workshops in which the handling of individual tools is taught. To this end, experts are invited to lead the training workshops. The results are collected, processed, and made available free of charge (online). In addition to the overview of Open Science tools, information on Open Science training events at Austrian and international institutions will be collected and presented. The aim is to inform as broad a research community as possible about Open Science tools.

The sub-group has formulated the goal of promoting the dissemination of Open Science methods and facilitating their implementation in everyday research work. Project leaders often lack knowledge about concrete tools or their application. The training workshops, which are open to all interested persons, follow a "train-the-trainer" approach, in which the participants acquire the necessary knowledge to be able to pass on the handling of concrete tools to others themselves. The aim is to offer discipline-specific training workshops. The documents produced in parallel by the sub-group should provide assistance in tool selection and application, and identify people who can be consulted as experts on specific topics.
